ATHENS — French President Emmanuel Macron and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday vowed to assist each other in case of security threats as they boosted bilateral defense cooperation. “In this partnership, there is a mutual support and assistance clause in case of armed aggression,” Macron said during a joint press conference with Mitsotakis at the Maximos mansion in Athens. Earlier on Saturday, at the Piraeus port, Macron and Mitsotakis visited a Greek frigate built by France’s Naval Group with French Defense and Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin and the company’s CEO Pierre-Eric Pommelet.
